Director, Power Development – Data Centers

Location: Dallas, TX or Atlanta, GA (or willing to relocate)

Working Structure: Hybrid, 2-3 days per week on-site (Flexible with work-life balance)

Compensation: $180k - $200k + Project-Based Bonuses (Up to 70% of Base comp) + Full Package

We have partnered with a premier, lean development powerhouse ($7B in booked revenue) that is currently at a massive inflection point. Backed by the immense capital stability of a multi-billion dollar parent company, their data center division is projected to quadruple in size over the next 24 months.

We are seeking a Director of Power Development, a high-level strategic lead, to own the utility infrastructure and power procurement lifecycle for our expanding national portfolio. If you are a high-performing infrastructure lead looking for the autonomy of an entrepreneurial firm with the financial infinite runway of a global investment giant, this is the role for you.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Power Procurement Strategy: Lead utility and power development strategies supporting hyperscale and mission-critical data center projects across multiple markets.
  • Capacity & Infrastructure Acquisition: Identify, evaluate, and secure electrical utility capacity for strategic land acquisitions and active developments.
  • High-Level Utility Coordination: Direct service applications, load studies, interconnection planning, transmission, and substation infrastructure delivery schedules.
  • Executive Negotiations: Negotiate complex utility procurement contracts, service agreements, incentives, easements, and infrastructure contributions with utility executives and regulatory agencies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal development, acquisitions, and D&C teams to align utility delivery with project milestones, permitting, and construction timelines.
  • Risk & Energy Strategy: Provide executive-level reporting on power delivery risks and transmission constraints while spearheading long-term renewable energy integration.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Hyperscale Expectation: You must have a deep, proven expertise supporting hyperscale, mission-critical, or massive industrial infrastructure developments. General real estate experience will not suffice; specialized power infrastructure expertise is non-negotiable.
  • Role Experience: A minimum of 8+ years of dedicated experience in utility infrastructure, large-scale power development, or energy procurement. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
  • Executive Leadership: You have a demonstrated ability to navigate complex negotiations, managing relationships seamlessly from engineering consultants on-site to utility executives and C-suite leadership.
  • Entrepreneurial Lead: You thrive in a lean, flat, fast-paced organization. You don't wait for instructions; you have a strong understanding of utility delivery timelines and power constraints, allowing you to proactively build the path to successful delivery.
  • Flexibility & Commitment: You are ideally based in Dallas or Atlanta (or willing to relocate) and are capable of traveling as required by regional project demands to ensure execution excellence.
  • High-Performance Mindset: You are motivated by a pay-for-performance culture where your total compensation is directly tied to successfully securing infrastructure and delivering power strategies for our portfolio.
