Soni's client is seeking a Data Analyst. This role sits within the IT organization and supports all departments and store locations across the business. This role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and governance of master data within Microsoft Business Central, including items, vendors, customers, and inventory records.
This individual serves as both a hands-on data steward and operational partner to stores, purchasing, inventory, finance, and IT teams. The role focuses on identifying and resolving data issues at the source, maintaining system integrity, and ensuring issues are tracked through resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit and maintain item, vendor, customer, and inventory master data across all locations.
- Validate data standards including barcodes, Units of Measure (UOM), cost, vendor linkage, categories, and descriptions.
- Correct data issues before they impact purchasing, inventory, POS, or store operations.
- Investigate and resolve duplicate records, inventory discrepancies, UOM mismatches, and receiving or adjustment errors.
- Conduct daily and weekly system integrity audits, including negative inventory reviews and blocked item analysis.
- Maintain issue tracking, backlog management, escalation, and resolution processes.
- Partner with store operations, purchasing, inventory control, finance, and IT leadership to improve data governance and operational processes.
- Support system audits, exception reporting, workflow improvements, and governance initiatives.
- Communicate technical and data-related issues clearly to operational users and leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in data entry, inventory control, ERP data management, supply chain, or related operational support roles.
- Experience in retail, wholesale distribution, or supply chain environments.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Understanding of inventory and item master concepts including UOMs, barcodes, vendor item numbers, and cost structures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including filtering, pivot tables, and basic formulas.
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central or LS Central preferred.
- Strong communication and issue management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, or physical inventory programs.
- Basic SQL knowledge.
- Exposure to Power BI or reporting tools.
- Familiarity with issue tracking systems and ERP governance best practices.
Compensation: Up to $78,000 annually
Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
