Proterra’s Credit strategy specializes in direct lending to middle-market food and agribusiness companies across the United States. Our Credit platform provides flexible, time-sensitive financing solutions to vertically integrated companies, processors and branded food companies.


POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Credit Analyst to support the Credit investment and origination teams. This position will provide support with company research analysis, diligence and modeling. Responsibilities will comprise the following broad areas:


RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct financial analyses in support of fund financings (including building models, analysing financial statements, loan structuring, and evaluating expected investment returns);

• Develop credit memos that include company analysis, credit scoring, collateral assessment, and investment rationale;

• Research and compile borrower-specific and industry data;

• Support transaction due diligence and loan closing processes;

• Assist with loan syndication, investment valuation, and periodic credit reviews;

• Monitor loan performance including covenant compliance;

• Work with team members to support existing and prospective investors; and

• Special projects as needed.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Undergraduate degree preferably in accounting, finance, economics, or other quantitative field;

• 2-4 years of relevant work experience within the banking or private credit industry;

• Understanding of financial concepts, valuation, and accounting;

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with complex data to drive decision making;

• Outstanding interpersonal skills;

• Effective verbal and written communicator (including technical report writing skills);

• Strong financial analysis skills with proven, financial modeling experience in Excel;

• Ability to meet challenging deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy;

• Applicants must be presently legally authorized to work in the United States for any U.S. employer; and

• Position is not eligible for employment-based visa sponsorship.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Understanding of key credit documentation, lending structures and deal terms.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The expected annual base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $135,000 USD and a discretionary bonus target range of 10-30%. Within the range, individual pay is determined by various factors including but not limited to education, job-related skills and experience. This role is also eligible for other forms of benefits, such as healthcare plan, 401(k) matching program, and flexible paid time off.
