Trout Creative Thinking is an independent brand and creative agency, founded in

Australia more than 30 years ago. Today, we work across Australia and the United

States, helping organizations build distinctive brands and deliver marketing that drives

real business growth.


In the U.S., we partner closely with the Reece Group – one of the world’s leading

plumbing, HVAC, and building products suppliers. While we collaborate deeply with

their marketing teams, we operate as an independent agency, bringing brand thinking,

strategy, and creative expertise.


We’re looking for a Copywriter who can turn strategy into clear, effective work – and

bring consistency and craft to day-to-day delivery. Both full-time and part-time

candidates will be considered.


What You’ll Do

Writing & Execution

  • Develop clear, effective copy across brand, campaign, and digital
  • Translate complex ideas into simple, usable messaging
  • Execute both short- and long-form content with consistency
  • Review and refine copy – ensuring clarity and consistency across all outputs


Strategy & Messaging

  • Support the development of voice, messaging, and positioning
  • Ensure all work aligns with brand strategy and project objectives
  • Concepting & Collaboration
  • Contribute to campaign ideas and creative concepts
  • Work directly in Figma alongside designers to place and refine copy in context
  • Present work clearly and explain thinking in a simple, direct way


Pace & Delivery

  • Manage multiple projects without dropping balls
  • Stay organized and deliver work on time
  • Adapt quickly as priorities shift


What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • At least 3 years experience in copywriting (agency preferred)
  • Strong portfolio across brand, campaign, and content work


Writing & Thinking

  • Strong writing skills with good conceptual instincts
  • Ability to take direction and build on it
  • Clear, concise, and confident voice
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent proofreading and copy editing skills


Tools & Workflow

  • Comfortable working in Figma and collaborating within design systems
  • Able to write and refine copy directly in layouts, not just in docs


Work Style

  • Fast, organized, and reliable
  • Low ego, high accountability
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities


Communication

  • Understands brand strategy and applies it to writing
  • Comfortable presenting in small group or client settings
