We’re partnering with a well-established and highly respected construction company in the Auburn/Opelika area to identify a Controller who will play a key leadership role within the organization. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Manage and forecast company cash flow to support operational needs
• Lead the month-end close process and ensure timely account reconciliations
• Prepare and deliver financial statements and performance insights
• Present financial results and analysis to company leadership
• Maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) and percentage-of-completion schedules
• Partner with external CPA firm and support annual audit activities
• Lead, mentor, and develop the AP, AR, and Payroll teams
• Review and approve invoices, expenses, and company disbursements
• Oversee project billing and revenue recognition
• Manage payroll for office personnel, including tax filings and year-end reconciliation
• Coordinate annual insurance renewals and related compliance requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 10+ years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience
• Construction industry accounting experience required
• Strong knowledge of WIP and percentage-of-completion accounting
• Proven leadership and team management experience
• Experience with ERP systems
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
