Configuration Manager

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Configuration Manager for an onsite position in Bingen, Washington to lead and mature configuration management practices for a complex aerospace-grade system. This role is responsible for defining and enforcing configuration control across the full product lifecycle spanning requirements, hardware, software, and test environments. The ideal candidate will serve as a steward of the digital product record, ensuring traceability, audit readiness, and alignment between engineering, manufacturing, and release activities.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position that interfaces across systems engineering, hardware, software, autonomy, manufacturing, and flight test teams.

Salary Range: $150,000-220,000/Annually

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive configuration management strategy aligned with program lifecycle milestones.
• Establish, control, and audit product baselines across development, test, and release phases.
• Define and maintain configuration allocation structures that align system capabilities, variants, and use cases.
• Support and evolve Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) data models, schemas, and governance rules.
• Ensure system requirements are fully traceable to architecture, design artifacts, verification evidence, and product structure.
• Enable configuration governance for effectivity, variants, and engineering/manufacturing bills of material (EBOM/MBOM).
• Establish and manage software configuration baselines, versioning, and release traceability.
• Ensure alignment between hardware baselines, software releases, and autonomy or control algorithms.
• Support configuration governance of training data, simulation assets, and validation datasets.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of professional experience in configuration management within aerospace, defense, robotics, or other complex engineered systems.
• Demonstrated experience managing configuration baselines, engineering changes, and formal audits.
• Hands-on experience supporting PLM systems and structured data configuration environments.
• Strong knowledge of software configuration management principles and version control practices.
• Solid understanding of industry configuration management standards and best practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaborative development tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

Travel: Approximately 20% domestic and international travel
