Position Summary

The Clinical Application Support Analyst is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing clinical applications (e.g., EHR systems like Epic) used by healthcare providers. This role serves as a key liaison between clinical end users and IT, ensuring systems function efficiently to support patient care and operational workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support for clinical applications, troubleshooting issues related to workflows, system functionality, and integrations
  • Analyze, triage, and resolve incidents, service requests, and system errors in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with clinicians, nurses, and operational stakeholders to understand workflows and translate needs into system solutions
  • Configure, maintain, and enhance application build (e.g., order sets, documentation tools, workflows)
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement long-term solutions
  • Support system upgrades, testing cycles (unit, integrated, UAT), and go-live activities
  • Work with interface and technical teams to resolve data flow or integration issues
  • Maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards
  • Participate in on-call support rotation as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience supporting clinical applications (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech)
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows (inpatient, ambulatory, or specialty areas)
  • Experience with troubleshooting, ticketing systems, and incident management
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Epic certification (e.g., ClinDoc, Orders, Ambulatory, ASAP, etc.)
  • Experience with system build/configuration and testing
  • Knowledge of healthcare integrations (HL7, interfaces)
  • Prior experience in a hospital or clinical environment
