Smart Data Solutions (SDS) is a health tech workflow automation, 700 people company scaling operations across the U.S., India, and Nepal through automation and innovation.
Description of Position
SDS is seeking a Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) who operates as a scaling leader and strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, beyond a traditional policy-first HR executive. The mandate is to build the talent, leadership, and performance system—and the global operating model—required for the next stage of growth across the U.S., India, and Nepal, directly tying people strategy to growth, productivity, AI adoption, and client delivery while helping SDS move from entrepreneurial execution to repeatable scale without unnecessary bureaucracy.
The right candidate brings strong talent judgment, business acumen, and global operating experience, with a track record of raising standards, improving manager effectiveness, and increasing talent density. This leader will treat headcount and role design like capital allocation, partner closely with Finance and operating leaders to link people decisions to profitability and productivity, and redesign work around automation and AI as a new way of working. The role requires a direct, practical, high-judgment approach and the ability to challenge senior leaders on performance, leadership gaps, and operating-model changes.
Responsibilities
Partner with Dallas based CEO and global executive team to build a high-performance operating culture across the U.S., India, and Nepal, with clear standards, urgency, and accountability
Upgrade leadership quality by assessing leaders, raising the performance bar, strengthening manager discipline, and building succession, coaching, and performance management that scales
Build a scalable global operating model through organizational design, workforce planning, and talent decisions explicitly tied to growth, productivity, and client delivery outcomes
Drive AI-native work redesign by partnering with Technology, Product, Operations, and Finance to reset role design, workflows, hiring plans, and productivity measures, and to track adoption and impact
Oversee core HR operations (benefits, compensation administration, payroll, policies, facilities and compliance) with strong vendor management, internal controls, and reliable day-to-day execution
Manage a team of 7 across locations
Partner with the Board and Compensation Committee as a trusted advisor, providing insights on leadership, succession, culture, and organizational health, and constructively challenging assumptions to drive strong decisions
Requirements
Operating executive experience connecting people strategy to growth, productivity, and profitability, with the business acumen to prioritize for impact
Track record helping organizations move from entrepreneurial execution to repeatable global scale without slowing the business through unnecessary bureaucracy or process
Deep capability assessing leadership quality, strengthening manager effectiveness, and making clear calls on leadership gaps; technology experience is a plus
Experience partnering across Technology, Product, Operations, and Finance to improve execution consistency and client delivery in a global, multi-site operating environment
Working knowledge of AI, automation, and workflow redesign and how they reshape role design, productivity expectations, hiring plans, and performance management
