Assistant Project Manager – Ground-Up Construction (Washington DC Area)

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support Project Managers on exciting ground-up construction projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating all aspects of project delivery including scheduling, budgeting, document control, and subcontractor management.
  • Support construction planning, material/equipment deliveries, and RFI/submittal processes.
  • Help maintain project schedules, track costs, and ensure projects stay on time and within budget.
  • Facilitate communication between the project team, clients, architects, engineers, and community stakeholders.
  • Participate in project meetings, prepare reports, and assist with change orders and closeout documentation.
  • Contribute to a safe, organized, and high-performing jobsite environment.


Requirements

  • 2–5+ years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar role in commercial/ground-up construction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Project, Excel, and Bluebeam (or similar).
  • Experience with educational, healthcare, or institutional projects is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
