Base pay range

$115,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr

OBJECTIVE

Strengthen Xycarb’s market position by providing high‑level technical product support that enables the sales team to secure market share and win new business opportunities. Lead innovation efforts by defining, initiating, and managing R&D projects that address identified market needs and emerging opportunities. Elevate the technical and market expertise of Xycarb’s sales and engineering teams to ensure they are informed, confident, and effective in representing the company’s products and capabilities.

KEY AREAS (Essential Duties)

Innovation & Development

  • Validate and contribute to the 3‑year business cycle planning.
  • Develop application innovation roadmaps aligned with industry trends, market insights, and customer feedback.
  • Prepare and deliver project proposals for R&D initiatives supporting long‑term application innovation.
  • Manage global product development projects, coordinating with cross‑functional teams across multiple offices.


Sales Support

  • Support sales managers through customer visits, calls, and technical discussions.
  • Provide technical support using data analysis related to customer issues, product data sheets, specifications, and process parameters.
  • Assist sales managers with technical input during the pre‑tender and tendering phases.
  • Supply SBA Managers with technical and value‑based information to support pricing decisions.
  • Contribute technical content for commercial promotional materials and maintain accurate product data.
  • Support SBA Management in exploring new markets and developing TAM (Total Addressable Market) assessments.


Consultancy & Trouble Shooting

  • Deliver application consultancy services to support business needs or as standalone customer offerings.
  • Address incoming customer inquiries on all technical matters related to Xycarb products and services.
  • Write technical application papers on newly developed processes and materials within the microelectronics portfolio.
  • Provide technical support for susceptor‑related issues and performance optimization.


Product Training

  • Assist in training and supporting factory personnel on product and process knowledge.
  • Deliver technical training on products, systems, and services to sales managers and plant engineering teams.
  • Educate SXT‑US personnel on contamination reduction, cleaning methods, and proper packing and handling of quartz materials.
  • Report on product and service market positioning to internal stakeholders.


Market Positioning of Products and Services

  • Provide insights into customer perceptions and valuation of Xycarb products and services.
  • Report and discuss collected market and customer information to improve understanding of customer needs.
  • Analyze product and service performance and benchmark against OEM offerings.
  • Regularly communicate findings to support strategic decision‑making.


Other Areas

  • Work in accordance with the company Quality, Environment, Safety and Health (QESH) procedures.
  • Provide insights into customer perceptions and valuation of Xycarb products and services.


SCOPE OF AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY

Authorized to

  • Provide technical support to customers on product- and application‑related issues.
  • Deliver training to internal staff on processes, products, and applications.
  • Identify market needs, develop business cases, and propose plans for R&D initiatives.
  • Support Sales by analyzing customer specifications and advising on appropriate product solutions.


Responsible for

  • Contributing to business growth by identifying R&D opportunities, preparing proposals, and managing assigned development projects.
  • Providing Product Managers, Business Managers, and Sales teams with business intelligence to guide future product and market development.
  • Supporting Sales in pre‑sales activities, including specification analysis and solution development for customer requirements.
  • Assisting in resolving complex technical challenges across products, applications, and customer environments.


Management / Leadership

  • Lead and support a team to achieve shared objectives and deliver high‑quality outcomes.
  • Plan, assign, and monitor tasks, making adjustments as needed to ensure timely and effective execution.
  • Leverage the team’s diverse skills to deliver cost‑efficient, customer‑focused services.
  • Identify skill gaps and implement development plans to maintain high performance standards.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date team skill matrix.
  • Focus on developing and coaching team members to support their professional growth.
  • Manage team‑related activities such as performance reviews, workforce planning, promotions, and recruitment.
  • Ensure adherence to QESH procedures to maintain safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Organize regular team meetings to maintain alignment, communication, and motivation.


ADDITIONAL JOB ASPECTS

Education/ Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of products and applications across semiconductor, SiC power, ALD, LED, OEM platforms, and renewable technologies (including Si and SiC boule growth and solar).
  • Ability to interpret customer needs and translate them into viable product or service solutions.
  • Experience with process transfers, end‑user insight programs, and concept development.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Deep understanding of Xycarb’s product portfolio, applications, production methods, quality standards, and business processes.
  • Ability to convert customer requirements into feasible product and service offerings.
  • Experience translating end‑user insights into actionable concepts and product improvements.
  • Proficiency in design‑in and release processes, including electrical, mechanical, physical, and safety testing.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, market research methodologies, and data interpretation.
  • Project management skills for coordinating and executing global, cross‑functional projects.

Work Environment:

  • Operates primarily in a professional office environment.
  • Uses standard office equipment and digital tools.
  • May occasionally require work in outdoor or production environments depending on project or customer needs.


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to meet the physical demands necessary to perform essential job functions
  • Regularly required to communicate verbally and listen effectively.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, handle materials or equipment, and reach with hands and arms.


Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

  • Full-time position with standard business hours
  • May require extended hours or weekend work based on business needs, customer demands, or project deadlines.


Travel:

  • Regular in‑person customer visits within the U.S. are required; travel may account for 20% or more of working time depending on business needs.
  • Occasional international travel may be required.
