On Monday, a group from the station had the opportunity to spend the day giving back at the Maine Wildlife Park helping with site cleanup. We couldn’t have asked for a better day - perfect weather and an even better team! Every department showed up, which made it especially meaningful to see everyone come together for a shared purpose. There’s something powerful about a community supporting its own, and we’re grateful to have been part of it. Looking forward to doing it again, this won’t be our last visit. #wmtwvolunteering, #hearstgivesback, #cleaningupcommunity, #teamwork, #mainewildlifepark

  • ✨ Employee Spotlight ✨   Frederick Placey is a cornerstone of our newsroom, bringing dedication, experience, and a great sense of humor to everything he does. As Senior Producer, Fred oversees our 11pm newscast during the week and produces Total Maine on Sunday mornings.  This September, he’ll celebrate an incredible 20 years with WMTW - a true testament to his commitment and passion for the craft 🖥️✍️   Fred’s journey is one of growth and versatility.  He started as an editor and quickly moved into a producer role. That led him to work every shift and produce every newscast at some point - from weekend mornings to weekday evenings.   Fred’s impact is felt every day through his standout strengths: 📚 A Master of Every Show Having produced across all time slots, Fred brings unmatched experience and adaptability. No matter the newscast, he knows exactly how to make it succeed. 🎯 Deep Newsroom Knowledge Years of hands-on experience have given Fred a strong understanding of workflow, storytelling, and teamwork. This truly makes him a reliable force behind every broadcast! 💯 Humor That Lifts the Team Fred’s talent goes beyond producing. He’s always ready with a pun or an ironic twist that keeps the newsroom smiling, even on the busiest days: What is a pirate’s favorite letter? RRRR! • 🌟Employee Spotlight🌟 This month we are shining the spotlight on Elliott Gagnon who been part of our Creative Services team for nearly 7 years. His skill set and attention to detail are above caliber. Here’s a look at some of the incredible work he does: * Elliott is part of the Commercial Production wing that create local spots.  Coordinating with his teammate to execute the vision for a client. He’s an eagle-eye behind the lights, camera and editing🎥📋 * Every client expects a message to cut through the noise and hit the mark.  That’s part of Elliott’s gift in the field and during the final cut.  After being meticulous on-site, he knows post-production is half the battle.  A cohesive assembly means the best takes, color-grading, graphics, sound design and making sure the message is clear 🔎🔉 * As part of the Creative Services team, you might see Elliott at some of the station’s tentpole events like TRI for a Cure or the Maine Marathon…working in tandem with other teams to capture special moments for a proof-of-performance promo📹🤝🏆 * Elliott’s craft also comes into play when he captures employees…when they get a new station photo or new image picture 📸 Elliott’s passion for storytelling & steady presence on set make him a great member of our CS team. Whether he’s behind the camera at a major event, fine-tuning a final edit, or helping colleagues put their best face forward, he does it all👏 #CreativeServices #TeamHearst #BehindTheScenes #Storytelling
