Investing in West Charlotte isn’t just about growing the city we’ve been a part of for decades. It’s about creating economic growth that will change the lives of people in our community. We’re giving $6 million in grants from the Wells Fargo Foundation across six local organizations to support a unified vision for West Charlotte including more housing affordability, workforce development, and capital for local businesses. One organization, CodePath, will use its grant to grow local tech talent by serving 2,000 students in Charlotte by 2028. CodePath embeds industry-aligned computer science courses, career services, and interview preparation into programs at University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Johnson C. Smith University - JCSU. “We think it’ll be transformational because of what it unlocks, not just for the opportunities that students can access, but especially for what they can do to give back to the community,” said CodePath founder and CEO Michael Ellison. Another grantee, Lakeview Neighborhood Alliance, will create affordable housing by building 15 accessory dwelling units (ADUs) on local homeowner lots as part of what executive director Jamaal Kinard calls their “attainable housing plan.” Other grantees include the West Boulevard Neighborhood Coalition, Freedom Communities, Charlotte Regional Business Alliance, and ASPIRE Community Capital. https://lnkd.in/g6-P5-qj

Success hasn’t always been easy or straightforward for the Ngo family and the H & N Group throughout its 45 years in business. Through it all, Wells Fargo has provided longstanding support. Since their first loan more than three decades ago, they’ve developed a banking relationship that extends beyond credit to education, strategy, and most importantly, trust. https://lnkd.in/g8TcfsKd

‘People first’ is a nice corporate slogan, but what does it really mean? For Sol Gindi, head of Wells Fargo Advisors (WFA), it means listening to colleagues and customers. “Our people are passionate, and they know what they need,” said Sol. “Wealth management is fundamentally a people business built on relationships. The investments, planning tools, and products are important, but clients need to trust their advisor is looking out for them for the long game.” The ‘people first’ philosophy Sol employs at Wells Fargo extends to his commitments outside of the office as well. He's a member of the UNCF board of directors and was recently honored with UNCF New York’s 2026 Leadership Award during its annual gala. He received the award for dedicated leadership, commitment to financial empowerment, and advocacy for access to opportunity. We honor leaders like Sol who show every day that ‘people first’ is more than a slogan.
