Most manufacturers believe they control their Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) data simply because they paid to create it. However, as digital EPD systems become more integrated with procurement platforms, specifications, product databases, and reporting ecosystems, manufacturers are beginning to ask critical questions: - Who can access our data after publication? - How portable is it? - What happens if we change providers, platforms, or program operators? - How do we maintain flexibility as digital requirements continue to evolve? The industry is transitioning beyond static PDFs. EPDs are becoming integral to a broader digital infrastructure that impacts purchasing decisions, specifications, reporting, and market access. This shift emphasizes the importance of long-term access, interoperability, and platform dependency, especially for manufacturers managing expanding EPD portfolios. Join William Paddock and Benjamin Ciavola for a discussion on the evolving post-publication EPD landscape and the considerations manufacturers should keep in mind as digital transparency expectations rise. In this webinar, we will cover: - How EPD data may be accessed, shared, or reused after publication - Considerations when changing software platforms, consultants, verification bodies, or program operators - Strategies for maintaining flexibility and portability as digital requirements expand - The influence of EPDs on specifications and purchasing decisions - Practical recommendations for protecting long-term EPD investments 📅 Wednesday, June 17th, 2026 ⏰ 11:00–11:45 AM CST | 12:00–12:45 PM EST Register here: https://lnkd.in/eZNjbWhq

We’re excited to partner with Living Future for this important industry conversation on the future of lighting disclosures and Declare transparency. As disclosure expectations continue to evolve through initiatives like Declare Health 2.1 and LEED v5, creating space for practical, technical discussions across the industry is critical. Conversations like this help manufacturers and specifiers navigate implementation challenges while continuing to advance more consistent and credible approaches to material disclosure. We’re proud to support this event and excited to have Leela Shanker and Alex Co representing WAP Sustainability alongside Hannah Ray from Living Future during the discussion. Join us on June 3 from 1:00–2:30 PM EST. Register here: https://lnkd.in/eFMVtPjq #Declare #MaterialHealth #LightingIndustry #LEEDv5
One of the best parts of my role at Living Future is getting a bird’s-eye view of so many different #buildingproduct categories. But diving into these various manufacturing worlds reveals an interesting truth: different industries approach and apply for Declare labels in distinctly different ways. The way a program exception or definition applies to carpet tile or a piece of drywall doesn't necessarily translate to a complex, multi-component LED fixture. Living Future, in partnership with WAP Sustainability, has opened the call for specifiers and lighting manufacturers to participate in an upcoming Industry Consultation on the application of the Declare Label framework within the lighting sector. Teams are encouraged to share insights on current practices for preparing and requesting Declare labels. Key discussion topics include interpretation of Red List Free and Red List Approved classifications, as well as application of the Small Electrical Components exception. Join us on Wednesday, June 3 at 1-2:30pm EST / 10-11:30am PST Register here: https://lnkd.in/g5HMX5DZ Hannah Ray Leela Shanker Alex Co #Declare #luminaire

WAP Sustainability is excited to be joined by our friends at Latham & Watkins to talk about packaging EPR next week! This year's reporting deadlines in California, Colorado and Oregon are coming up May 31 (as well as preliminary reporting in the other four packaging EPR states). If you still have questions about how your company fits into this regulatory patchwork, we're confident this webinar can help. 😊
As Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws expand across U.S. states, companies need to understand what’s required—and how to respond. As part of our educational webinar series, this session will provide a practical overview of U.S. EPR and open the floor for discussion during a dedicated Q&A. Join Jon Smieja, PhD, Director of Circularity & EPR at WAP Sustainability, alongside guest speakers from Latham & Watkins, Betty M. Huber, Corporate Partner, and Nathan Ye, Associate, for a breakdown of today’s evolving EPR landscape. The discussion will be moderated by Devin Taylor, Business Development Manager at WAP Sustainability. Together, they’ll cover: • What EPR is, how it evolved, and why it matters • What current laws require of producers • Who is responsible for reporting and fees • Where enforcement stands today • Practical steps to achieve compliance • How to turn EPR into a strategic advantage For companies navigating packaging requirements in the U.S., this session offers a clear view of what’s expected and how to move forward with real-world guidance you can put into action right away.
