🏙️ What does the future of the urban curb look like? Minneapolis is already living it. Last week, the NACTO (National Association of City Transportation Officials) Designing Cities Conference brought together urban planners, transportation leaders, and city innovators from across the country — and we were honored to be part of one of the most talked-about moments of the event: the Minneapolis Walking Tour. A huge thank you to Dillon Fried, PTMP and John Lundstrum of the City of Minneapolis for leading an extraordinary on-the-ground experience showing what smarter curb management looks like in practice — and to Kevin White, AICP, PTMP of Walker Consultants for helping bring it all to life for attendees. The tour put Minneapolis's forward-thinking approach to urban mobility on full display — from dynamic loading zones and real-time curb occupancy to AI-powered vehicle tracking visible right from a mobile app on the street. Attendees could see live, on Nicollet Ave, exactly how data transforms a city block. We at Umojo were proud to provide the technology backbone for what conference-goers experienced — our NexCity Curb Vision AI cameras tracking vehicles in real time, NexCity Digital Curb mapping the entire corridor live on mobile, and dynamic digital signage guiding the curb in the moment. But the real story is what Minneapolis is doing with it: building a more equitable, efficient, and data-driven city for all its residents.
