The business side of photography doesn't get talked about enough. Dylan, Dennis, Petronella, and VSCO's own Nicole have been photographing weddings for a combined 30+ years. The thing they all have in common isn't a style or a camera. It's that they stopped letting the admin run them. The creative work gets to be the job and the rest runs in VSCO Workspace. How much of your time as a working photographer goes to things that have nothing to do with photography? VSCO CEO Eric Wittman and researcher Anjali Banthia joined Great Big Photography World to share what VSCO's research reveals about how photographers are actually engaging with AI in 2026. - The dominant narrative is that photographers are resistant to AI. The data directly contradicts that. - Working pros are adopting AI at a higher rate than enthusiasts, even as they hold more concerns. - The biggest opportunity isn't the image itself. It's everything around it: scheduling, culling, admin, and the tasks that eat into creative time. Worth a listen if you're a photographer thinking through where AI fits in your workflow, or doesn't. Everyone is telling photographers to quit. We’re telling them the opposite. Today VSCO is launching a campaign that takes a stand. Photography isn’t dying. We’ve spent 15 years building alongside photographers through every technology shift, every disruption, every moment someone tried to convince them this wasn’t a real career. We’re not stopping now. We’ve got their back. We always have and always will. Read on…

We spoke with Eric Wittman, CEO of VSCO®, about how the platform gives photographers the tools, community, and exposure they need to expand creatively and professionally. Eric explains how AI is a paradigm shift that’s changing the entire creative process rather than simply introducing new tools like past photography disruptions. With AI capable of generating photorealistic imagery, we discuss the unique advantage of the human photographer and how soul, intention, and style cannot be replaced. He offers essential advice on the most valuable skillsets for photographers to double down on—storytelling, empathy, and relationship building.
