Legacy security isn't enough anymore. Learning management software Canvas was breached earlier this week, compromising the data of millions of students, teachers, and staff. Here's the breakdown 👇 On May 1, 2026, Instructure confirmed it experienced a cybersecurity incident involving a criminal threat actor. They disclosed that certain user data had been accessed, including names, emails, student IDs, and messages shared. Since then, the cybercrime group ShinyHunters has publicly claimed responsibility, issuing a direct warning: pay a ransom or the stolen data will be released. Canvas users should take the following steps to ensure their safety: ⚠️ Approach all unexpected communications with a heightened sense of scrutiny ⚠️ Verify all requests through separate trusted channels ⚠️ Review and strengthen overall account security and authentication processes ⚠️ Users should navigate directly to official portals rather than clicking embedded links

On a scale of 1️⃣- 🔟, how confident are you that your AI is behaving the way it's supposed to? Being able to monitor how your AI systems behave is crucial to ensuring the underlying data stays safe.
