Late last year, we welcomed Complete Beverage Destruction, in Dade City, Florida, into the Vanguard Renewables family. 🎉 With expanded capacity, the facility now processes up to 200 tons per day of beverage recalls, expired inventory, and production overruns for our partners across the Southeast. Beer, spirits, juice, energy drinks...we handle it all. As part of our organics diversion network, we reclaim the glass, aluminum, and packaging — and responsibly repurpose the liquid content, keeping it all out of landfills and in the circular economy. If you're looking for a more sustainable solution, let’s talk. https://lnkd.in/eF3ZDiea

Vanguard Renewables CCO Sunny Punj kicked off Renewable Gas Markets Asia this week with a clear case for food waste biomethane in Japan’s emerging low carbon energy market. Food waste is an abundant, underutilized feedstock that delivers measurable decarbonization today. It offers one of the lowest costs of carbon abatement and integrates directly into existing LNG infrastructure, making it both practical and scalable as markets shift toward carbon intensity–based frameworks. Using established lifecycle analysis methodologies, food waste biomethane can achieve carbon intensity scores as low as -100 to -150 gCO₂e/MJ, putting it among the lowest-carbon fuels available today. If you missed the session, there’s another opportunity to join the conversation. Sunny will be back tomorrow for a fireside chat with Sam Wade (RNG Coalition) on balancing carbon intensity, lifecycle analysis, and real-world emissions reduction goals.

Great meeting to kickstart the week! Looking forward to the Renewable Gas Markets Asia 2026 conference, and our CCO Sunny Punj speaking on two important topics: May 19: The Case for Food Waste Biomethane in Japan's Emerging Low Carbon Energy Market May 20: Balancing Carbon Intensity & Lifecycle Analysis with Practical Emission Reduction Goals
RNG COALITION led a delegation of U.S. RNG luminaries at a meeting with U.S. Embassy Tokyo to begin the week, honing industrial expertise around a joint effort to match Japan's long-term demand for low-carbon molecules with growing supply from our industry. Thanks to all those taking part in this international effort to facilitate the growth of new export markets for U.S. RNG. The biogas offtake market is evolving quickly, and the path to getting deals done is not always straightforward. That’s the conversation we’re looking forward to at this week’s American Biogas Council BIOGAS AMERICAS conference in Detroit. Our CEO Michael O'Laughlin will join a panel exploring how the offtake landscape is shifting, where opportunities are emerging, and what it takes to move projects forward in today’s market. He’ll be joined by Brad Pleima (EcoEngineers), Robert Frank (bp), and Tom Moffett (Anew). Vanguard Renewables leaders Kim Martin and Craig Lovett will also be on stage the day prior for a session focused on advancing co-digestion projects from development through operations.

Jeremy Moyer started following his dad around the farm when he was 6. Today, he runs Oakmulgee Dairy Farm alongside his father, Larkin, and his brother, Brandon, as the fifth generation to steward their land since 1905. Their philosophy is simple: “The more you take care of your cows, the more they take care of you.” That mindset extends beyond the herd to their land, their community, and the future of our planet. Oakmulgee already operates with solar power, robotic milkers, and no-till practices. Now, the farm is home to our newly commissioned anaerobic digester, where agricultural waste is combined with regional food waste to produce renewable natural gas. We’re proud to be part of what this family is building. Photo credit: The Dairy Alliance

Co-digestion is one of the biggest opportunities in the U.S. biogas market… but delivering these projects in the real world is anything but simple. That’s the conversation we’re looking forward to at next week’s American Biogas Council AMERICAS conference. Vanguard Renewables VP of Development Kim Martin will moderate a session focused on where complexity shows up across feedstock sourcing, permitting, engineering, and operations, and how leading teams are working through it to bring projects online. She’ll be joined by Thomas Gratz (Kanadevia Inova), Umesh Akki (Ag-Grid Energy), Floriano Ferreira (Generate Upcycle), and Craig Lovett (Vanguard Renewables). Our CEO Michael O'Laughlin will also take the stage the following day for a panel on the evolving offtake market, exploring how the landscape is shifting and what it will take to move projects forward.

For the food & beverage manufacturers in the VA/NC region: what's happening to your packaged waste right now? If the answer is "going to a landfill", we should talk. Our new facility at Oakmulgee Dairy Farm in Amelia County, VA just came online, and we're processing packaged food and beverage waste every single day. Yogurt containers, aluminum cans, Tetra Paks, expired retail products...we handle it all. And we offer a full-service model, from hauling to depackaging, recycling, and CoDs. https://lnkd.in/eqc5_cai

Carbon accounting rigor and real-world delivery don't have to be at odds. That's the conversation we're looking forward to in Tokyo. 🔥 Our CCO Sunny Punj will join Sam Wade (VP, Public Policy, RNG COALITION) for a fireside chat at Renewable Gas Markets Asia 2026 on "Balancing Carbon Intensity & Lifecycle Analysis with Practical Emission Reduction Goals." From CI scoring to LCA frameworks, the discussion will focus on how the industry can use these tools to actually drive emissions reductions…not just meet compliance checkboxes. It's one of the final event sessions and should be a great capstone. Sunny will also be speaking the day before, on "The Case for Food Waste Biomethane in Japan's Emerging Low Carbon Energy Market." #biomethane Rohit Punj

A dairy farm, a pharmaceutical company, and a commonwealth walk into an organics recycling facility. Not your typical opener...and yet, at our newly commissioned site in Amelia County, VA, it's a real-world example of how cross-sector partnerships bring a circular system to life. The Moyer family, fifth-generation operators of Oakmulgee Dairy Farm, supply manure from their dairy cows. It's combined with regional food and beverage waste to feed our anaerobic digester and generate renewable natural gas for AstraZeneca's U.S. research and manufacturing operations. And with support from the Commonwealth of Virginia, projects like this can scale, creating new pathways for both waste diversion and domestic energy resilience. Everywhere we operate, partnerships are the success factor.💪

It was a pleasure hosting Congressman John McGuire this week at our recently commissioned Amelia County facility in Virginia’s 5th District. Strategic infrastructure investment drives economic development while solving real-world challenges, and it means a lot to have elected leaders who want to understand how that work happens on the ground. At this facility, unavoidable food waste is diverted from landfills and converted into renewable energy in a way that delivers lasting value beyond its operational footprint. That work creates long-term investment in the region, supports skilled jobs, strengthens domestic energy supply, and provides added stability for America’s farms. Thank you to the Congressman for spending time with our team and for the thoughtful conversation on how projects like this can support economic growth across the Commonwealth and beyond.
