Across our recent partner site surveys, one message stands out, strong partnership is driving meaningful impact. Partners highlighted the value of credible analytics, benchmarking, and education that resonates from frontline clinicians to executive teams. We also heard this is reaching the board level, where greater understanding is strengthening confidence and support for advancing quality, safety, and culture. Together, these insights are helping organizations take thoughtful, right-sized action while improving communication, alignment, and shared accountability. Just as important, partners consistently emphasized the strength of the relationship, noting responsive support and tailored engagement. That trust continues to shape how we work together to build cultures of safety and respect. We’re grateful for the collaboration and the progress being made together. If these themes resonate in your organization, we’re always open to connecting. Please reach out to CPPABD@vumc.org. #ProfessionalismInHealthcare #Partnership #SaferCare

Sharing the key takeaways from a recent global webinar featuring Gerald Hickson and colleagues hosted by International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities (IAMRA) on professional regulation and a systems approach to patient safety. See more below. #ProfessionalismInHealthcare #HealthcareLeadership #GlobalHealthcare #SaferCare
Grateful to join international colleagues Martin Fletcher and Helen Hughes for this week's International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities (IAMRA) webinar, “Parallel Planets or Partners? Professional regulation and a systems approach to patient safety.” Three key takeaways from this rich global dialogue: Professional regulators and healthcare organizations are fellow team members, and patient safety is strongest when we work together. High reliability requires intentionally designed systems and accountable professionals, one without the other is simply not enough. Real progress comes when regulation and health systems move from parallel paths to true partnership in the pursuit of safe, respectful, competent care. #ProfessionalismInHealthcare #RespectInHealthcare #SaferCare #ReliableCare

Professionalism lives in the everyday with how we show up for patients, how we communicate, and how closely we attend to the details that matter most, with respect at the center. Thank you to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for a simple message with lasting meaning that reflects our credo values and commitment to patient-centered care. #ProfessionalismInHealthcare #RespectInHealthcare #CredoValues
Recently I was traveling back from Nashville and the below slogan from Vanderbilt University Medical Center caught my eye. “Every Patient. Every Day. Every Detail Matters.” This resonated with me because of the simplicity, but large impact of the message. It really made me stop and think…maybe because I’m in the healthcare industry or because I was fresh off a great conference where we heard multiple times “the patient is at the center of everything we do”. 📌Every Patient: reminds me that behind every referral, every BV, every PA, there is a person trusting Vanderbilt with their health and hope. 📌Every Day: acknowledges that consistency is what earns trust. It’s consistency in showing up, solving problems, advocating, and guiding patients and caregivers the best you can with the knowledge you have. 📌Every Detail Matters: because the little things are often the big things to patients and in my everyday world, customers. A returned phone call, a quickly answered email, a clear explanation, and being up front and transparent when possible. These are the details that can literally change someone’s entire day ~ I know from medical and healthcare experience with both my mom and dad. When we care enough to show up and do the right thing, our customers feel it and in turn patients feel it. Hopefully, patients feel seen, protected, and respected and that is the kind of impact that stays with them long after an infusion, surgery, or doctor’s visit is over. #passiondrivenpurpose #healthcare #vanderbilthealth #betheone #makeadifference

Today on Nurses Day, we welcome the opportunity to emphasize the essential role nurses play in safety, culture, and the experience of care. Recent national workforce data reflect what health systems are navigating: nurse turnover carries significant financial, operational, and human consequences. These realities reinforce that supporting nursing teams is not simply a staffing challenge, but a core professionalism and patient safety priority. We are encouraged to see nursing leaders across the country elevating these same principles of respect, accountability, and shared ownership as foundational to strong teams and a sustainable nursing profession. Today, we celebrate nurses with deep appreciation and reaffirm our commitment to the partnerships that walk alongside them every day. ➡️ Read the recent Becker's Healthcare article here: https://lnkd.in/eNBz4Tqb #NursesDay #NursesWeek #ProfessionalismInHealthcare #RespectInHealthcare #SaferCare

It was a pleasure welcoming such a large group from University of Utah Health to our Professionalism Course. When teams come together across clinician roles, the conversations are richer, the learning goes deeper, and the impact is stronger. Bringing physicians, APPs, nurses, and other clinical leaders into the same room creates momentum for meaningful culture change, grounded in shared expectations, mutual understanding, and collective accountability. This kind of cross‑disciplinary engagement is where real progress takes place. #ProfessionalismInHealthcare #CPPASpringCourse2026
