UnitedHealthcare announced new findings from its fourth annual Young Adult & College Student Behavioral Health Report, a national survey conducted by YouGov examining how mental and behavioral health concerns affect people between the ages of 18-28. The survey also explores how parents may perceive and respond to these challenges. Survey data found that among both college students and young adults not in college, more than 6 in 10 (62%) say they've experienced a mental or behavioral health concern in the past year. In addition, college students say they're struggling with mental health concerns more this year than any other year. See the full findings in this year's report: uhc.care/50ba68

Recently, The Minnesota Star Tribune wrote an article that spotlights our COVE — Consumer Operations Vitals and Experience — and the UnitedHealthcare team behind it who show up every day to solve real member issues with speed, care and accountability. COVE analysts quickly identify what’s not working, fix it at the root and improve the experience for members who count on us most. Read the full article below.
I’m always moved when I see our people show up for members in moments that really matter. This article about UnitedHealthcare’s COVE (Consumer Operations Vitals and Experience) is a reminder that great consumer service isn’t about systems or scripts – it’s about listening, caring and staying with someone until the problem is truly solved. That work reflects the standard BT set years ago: Honor the person on the other end, and do the right thing, especially when it’s hard. Big shout out to Michael Baker and Liv Murphy, MBA for their continuous innovation and dedication – BT would be proud. ❤️ https://uhc.care/dfc9a7

UnitedHealthcare is eliminating authorization requirements for 30% of healthcare services that previously required insurer approval. This includes select outpatient surgeries, some diagnostic tests like echocardiograms, and certain outpatient therapies and chiropractic care. This initiative builds on a series of recent, industry-leading commitments the company has made to make healthcare simpler and more affordable, while raising the bar for transparency and accountability across the marketplace.
