With tremendous gratitude and excitement, I am happy to announce that we now have an ACGME-accredited Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency Program in the Central Valley! This is the first of its kind and will not only serve our vulnerable patient populations but also address our dire physician shortage in this region. Over the last three years, United Health Centers and CHSU-COM have partnered with San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation Hospital, Sierra Pacific Orthopedics, VA Central California Healthcare System, Mercy Merced Medical Center, and CHLA-USC to develop a 2 residents/year (starting as PGY-2) Advance Program (six total residents between PGY-2 and PGY-4), commencing in July 2026. I am truly honored to serve as Program Director of this innovative residency. Program Website: https://lnkd.in/gSCKA3QJ Program Email: pmrresidency@unitedhealthcenters.org For the 2026 cycle, we are currently accepting applications (outside the Match) via our website above. Current Prelim and TY residents can also email a pdf of their ERAS/CAS applications with board scores and have their MSPEs/Dean's Letters transmitted directly to us. Selected applicants will be interviewed in May. Sincerest gratitude to all our amazing GME partners, faculty, staff, admin, and leadership for making this residency program a reality. Let's continue to make meaningful, lasting impacts together as a GME Community. #pmr #GME #CentralValley #partnership #teamwork #physiatry #rehabilitation Miguel Rodriguez
