Our elementary students brought nonstop energy to Field Day, rotating through parachute games, gaga, stomp rockets, limbo, water balloon toss, and more. Hot temperatures brought several activities indoors, but teamwork and energy made the day unforgettable! We’re grateful to our PE staff for organizing such a fun experience!
A galaxy of memories was made at this year’s Star Wars–themed prom. 🌠 Senior and VTC students shined on the dance floor, posed for photos, and enjoyed an evening crafted by our dedicated staff, including Senior Advisors, Mrs. Parkinson and Mrs. Hight, with stellar decorations by our art teacher, Mrs. Campbell.
Our CBI class had a very special day! While out in the community, our students had the wonderful opportunity to cross paths with Office of Governor Josh Shapiro and Mrs. Lori Shapiro. The Governor and First Lady graciously took a photo with our group and shared kind words about the work we do. Special thanks to our staff member, Teresa Russell, for making the connection! Moments like these remind us how valued our students and program are. We are so proud!
Special thanks to our wonderful Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) for hosting a fantastic fundraiser Tuesday night at The Goat’s Beard in Wayne. The evening brought together great food, live music, exciting raffles, and incredible community spirit — all in support of The Vanguard School. Our Executive Director, Tom Quinn, made a special appearance behind the bar and even had the chance to shake paws with Will D. Cat, the beloved mascot of Villanova University. 🐾 We are grateful to our PTO, our families, and our community partners for making this fundraiser such a success and for supporting programs that make a meaningful difference for Vanguard students and families.

We were honored to have members of our Vocational Transition Center (VTC) represent The Vanguard School and Services at the community event, “Bringing Autism to the Forefront for Chester County,” led by Temple Grandin at Immaculata University on April 30th. Dr. Grandin delivered an inspiring and engaging presentation, emphasizing the importance of teaching vocational and life skills to neurodiverse students — a mission that closely aligns with the work we do every day at Vanguard. Our team returned energized, inspired, and smiling from ear to ear after such a meaningful evening!
