Recently, some of the SCAN WELL ERG team members volunteered with EmpowHer Institute as mentors. They spent their time sharing their experience and encouragement with the next generation of girls, building confidence in their futures. This is just one of many things that makes the culture at SCAN special. Our Rebels step up to support others not because they have to, but because they genuinely care. We're proud to see our teams continuing to lead with compassion both inside and outside of the workplace.

What an incredible turnout at the Long Beach Pride Parade! 🌈 We were proud to see so many of our Rebel volunteers (and several furry friends) show up to represent SCAN and celebrate alongside the City of Long Beach community. From connecting with members to showing up with energy and pride, community involvement is a huge part of SCAN, and moments like these are a reminder of the the importance of being present for the communities we serve and celebrate. After more than three decades in the health insurance industry, my dear friend and colleague Michael Blea has announced his retirement from SCAN. It’s hard to fully capture what Michael has meant to our organization. Not just through his leadership as Chief Growth Officer, but through the way he has consistently shown up for people. During a period of remarkable growth at SCAN, Michael helped lead some of the most important chapters in our recent history, including the strongest AEP our company has ever experienced (127,000!). His leadership helped position SCAN among the top ten Medicare Advantage plans in the country and the #1 non-Kaiser MA plan in California. He also launched SCAN’s Brokers as Health Navigators program, a pioneering program that reimagines the role of Brokers in our business. He’s truly going out on top. But titles, rankings, and growth metrics only tell part of the story. What stands out most to me about Michael is his ability to connect with others. He brings deep empathy to this work and never loses sight of who our health care system is supposed to serve. He is a consummate professional and a leader of the highest capability. But this is not goodbye. Although Michael will officially retire in July, he will continue advising SCAN going forward as a Senior Advisor to the CEO and President. I know Karen Schulte, Senthu Arumugam, and I will continue to benefit from his wisdom, experience, and perspective in the months ahead. Michael, thank you for your partnership and your unwavering commitment to improving the lives of older adults. SCAN is stronger because of your contributions. That's two years in a row! SCAN CEO Dr. Sachin H. Jain, MD, MBA has been named to Los Angeles Business Journal's LA500 list for 2026! 👏 The list, which recognizes influential leaders and impactful executives in Los Angeles, highlights SCAN's growth under Dr. Jain, with SCAN having grown to: - One of the top 10 largest Medicare Advantage (MA) organizations by membership in the country from #14 in 2025. - The #1 health plan in California (outside of the Kaiser Permanente health system plans) from #4 in 2025. - Serving nearly 500,000 members across six states, adding 127,000 new members during the most recent MA Annual Enrollment Period alone. SCAN is celebrating the one-year anniversary of SCAN Central, our vibrant community hub in Henderson, Nevada dedicated to supporting the health, wellness and social connection of older adults! 🎉 "SCAN Central has become a true home for older adults in Henderson,” said Karen Schulte, President of Medicare at SCAN Health Plan. “Whether they are joining a fitness class, asking a question about their SCAN benefits, or just stopping in to see friends, this is a place where they feel welcome. That is what we set out to build, and we are proud of what the past year has shown." Since opening in 2025, SCAN Central has welcomed hundreds of weekly visitors, providing free educational and fitness classes, along with a wide variety of events and services, including: • Medicare Support: Community members can meet with SCAN representatives to learn more about Medicare and receive guidance. • Engaging Activities: SCAN members and local seniors can enjoy fun events like bingo, creative arts classes, and social gatherings. • Community Connection: SCAN Central is designed to foster strong relationships among members, brokers, providers, and the broader community. • Health and Wellness Services: Visitors can take advantage of fitness classes and wellness workshops that promote healthy living and independence.
