135 years ago, a simple idea took root: That special places should be protected — not by a few, but by a community, and preserved for public use and enjoyment. Since 1891, that community of Members has been you. Today, we celebrate Founder’s Day and the generations of Members who have made this work possible. Thank you for being part of this story. 📷: Appleton Farms, Ipswich #TheTrustees#FoundersDay #135Years | [Image description: Photo of a group of Trustees volunteers enjoying a hike at Appleton Farms in Ipswich, MA.]

The 31st Annual South End Garden Tour returns Saturday, June 20, winding through private back yards, rooftop gardens, hidden alleyways, LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC historical sites, and newly renovated community garden spaces across one of Boston's most storied neighborhoods. Generations of South End gardeners have shaped these spaces, bringing cultural crops and cultivation traditions from immigrant families that still flourish today. It's a self-guided wander with food, local music, and plenty to discover along the way. Trustees members save with $28 tickets ($35 for nonmembers). All proceeds support 56 community gardens across Boston. Pencil in a Berkshires summer. 📌 Field Farm in Williamstown @fieldfarm_thetrustees just got even more reason to visit: "Peristyle II" (1966) by George Rickey (1907–2002) has been installed on the property, on loan from the George Rickey estate through 2027. The kinetic sculpture is a series of vertical stainless steel lines that sway with the wind into random, mesmerizing waves of motion — one of Rickey's finest works of the era, in conversation with his "Eight Lines" (1963) at Field Farm's Folly and "Three Lines" (1964) in the deCordova collection. While you're there: more than 4 miles of trails across 316 acres, 13 permanent sculptures on a self-guided tour, sweeping views of Mt. Greylock, and a stay at our mid-century modern B&B if you want to make a weekend of it. Nearby: the Clark, MASS MoCA, and Williamstown Theatre Festival. 🔗 Plan your visit: https://lnkd.in/dYx-mDmm 📷: Peristyle II by George Rickey at Field Farm, Williamstown #TheTrustees #GeorgeRickey #WilliamstownMA #Berkshires [Image description: George Rickey's "Peristyle II" installed in a meadow at Field Farm in Williamstown, MA featuring tall, slender stainless steel rods rising on angles from low bases in the grass, with bare early-spring trees behind them.]
