ALS impacts more than one person. It touches mothers like Sandra, sisters like Megan, devoted respiratory therapists like Gina Maria Miller, and entire families who step forward every day with love, strength, and support for McKenzi after her diagnosis. In Megan’s own words, this is a glimpse into the reality, resilience, and care surrounding one family’s ALS journey: We're pleased to report that McKenzi's condition has remained remarkably stable in terms of disease progression. Despite the daily challenges, her spirit remains incredibly strong, and she continues to find innovative ways to interact with the world around her. It’s quite incredible to witness her proficiency in using her feet and toes; she’s mastered giving a “big toe up” as a clear "yes" and even skillfully uses a pop socket between her toes to text and stay connected through her phone. Her determination is truly inspiring to everyone who meets her. On that note, we absolutely want to extend a huge shoutout and heartfelt gratitude to PromptCare. There have been several instances, sometimes in the middle of the night, where we've faced unexpected medical equipment issues. Every single time, your Respiratory Therapy team has been incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful. Knowing we have such reliable support provides immense peace of mind during challenging moments. We also eagerly anticipate Gina Maria Miller's monthly visits; her expertise and compassionate care are invaluable to McKenzi's well-being and our family's overall morale. Thank you again for thinking of us and for your wonderful support. Warmly, Megan & Sandra on behalf of McKenzi
