Last week, we were reminded exactly who our work is for. We had the privilege of welcoming two patient speakers from the Alpha-1 Foundation to our office. Both are living with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency and spoke about their journeys to diagnosis and their day-to-day experiences with the disease. They shared their stories with #TeamTessera and what a potential cure could truly mean. We are grateful for the trust they placed in us. Their stories, and those of others living with Alpha-1, are why we show up every day to pioneer the #FutureOfGeneticMedicine. #Alpha1Awareness #RareDisease #GeneWriting

This #WomensHistoryMonth, our Women in Tessera (WIT) ERG organized a series of programs centered on mentorship, career development, and workplace equity. Throughout the month, these efforts created space to build leadership skills and explore self-advocacy, mentorship across a career, and how we can better recognize and challenge unconscious bias in everyday decisions. Building an environment where people can learn from one another, grow, and contribute fully is essential to advancing both people and science. #TeamTessera #Community #Leadership

By writing in the code of life through our #GeneWriting platform, we’re pursuing new ways to address major unmet needs in rare genetic diseases. In recognition of #RareDiseaseDay, #TeamTessera came together to support the rare disease community by writing letters to patients and families. We were also honored to hear from Dr. Sonia Vallabh, a scientist at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, whose journey is a powerful reminder of the urgency and humanity behind the work to create cures for rare diseases. #RareDiseaseDay #RareGeneticDisease

In honor of International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we are celebrating the women across #TeamTessera who bring curiosity, rigor, and courage to discovery, and the allies who help open doors for the next generation. Members of our team joined colleagues for a fireside chat with Sally Kornbluth, President of MIT, followed by an evening of connection. We are reminded that progress is powered not only by breakthrough ideas, but by the people behind them who lead, mentor, and make space for others to thrive. #WomenInScience #IDWGS2026
