That's what it felt like watching our team members show up for each other across every jobsite — with morning planning sessions, toolbox talks, shared meals and camaraderie. Safety culture grows when co-workers spend time together and have conversations. Our 2026 summer interns started this month. Over the next 12 weeks, they’ll work alongside mentors across our highway, bridge and infrastructure projects throughout the Southeast and Midwest. The program gives interns hands-on experience across the business, from jobsite operations to project planning. They’ll collaborate with teams across departments, present to senior leaders and gain exposure to the work that keeps projects moving. There’s meaningful work ahead, and we’re glad they’re here to be part of it. National Infrastructure Week is a good time to recognize the projects most people don’t think about — the bridges, highways and coastal work that keep communities connected. Congratulations to Will Roth, Project Engineer III, on being named a 2026 Zweig Group Rising Star. Will joined Superior just out of college and was sent to the Fort Myers area months later to support the emergency Sanibel Causeway reconstruction following Hurricane Ian. He remained on the project through completion, taking on increased responsibility and contributing to one of the most recognized infrastructure projects in the country. Superior Construction received five awards at this year’s Construction Advancement Foundation (CAF) and Northwest Indiana Business RoundTable (NWIBRT) ceremonies. CAF named Superior Industrial Contractor of the Year and recognized the company with an Excellence in Professional Development award. NWIBRT honored Jacob Bliss with the Life Saver Award for administering CPR to a co-worker on the jobsite until paramedics arrived, named Mark Jachim and Adam Pajor Outstanding Craftspersons of the Year and presented Superior with the Safety Achievement Award. Superior Construction is accepting applications for its Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Program, a paid, hands-on training opportunity for incoming high school juniors and seniors. Participants earn $15 per hour while gaining experience in a controlled shop environment, classroom instruction from experienced professionals and supervised visits to active jobsites. The program runs four days a week from June 15 through July 17. Participants will leave with industry-recognized certifications and a clearer understanding of what a future in construction can look like.
