Sunrun has earned four 2026 Buyer’s Choice Awards from ConsumerAffairs: 🏆 Best Customer Service 🏆 Best Installation Experience 🏆 Best Equipment 🏆 Best Value What makes the Buyer’s Choice Awards special is the fact that it's based entirely on verified reviews from real customers. At the end of April, Sunrunners volunteered to help Habitat for Humanity finish the final 10 homes for one of their build projects in Utah—a fitting way to close out National Volunteer Month. Moments like these are a reminder of why living affordably and bettering our communities sit at the heart of everything we do. We're grateful to every Sunrunner who gave their time, and to Habitat for Humanity for the ongoing partnership that makes it possible.

It’s an honor to be named #5 on TIME's World’s Most Impactful Companies list and the #1 in the utilities category. “The ranking highlights 500 companies that work to address high-priority global challenges as part of their core business—proof that companies can do good and do well,” TIME said. TIME’s independent, third-party endorsement recognizes Sunrun’s groundbreaking work to make home solar and battery storage affordable and accessible, and for our distributed power plants that are helping stabilize America’s power grid. Since 2007, Sunrun has provided customers with an estimated $1.9 billion in energy savings, 9.2 million hours of backup power during grid outages, and avoided 26.2 million metric tons of carbon emissions—the equivalent of taking 69 gas-fired power plants offline for a year. By breaking down the barriers to energy independence, families can quickly enjoy the benefits of backup power and cost predictability, while also directly contributing to the health of the power grid. "Particularly now with the backdrop of escalating energy prices, we are providing Americans with the opportunity for energy independence, the ability to generate and store their own energy, have stable priced power, and to do it in a way that is also providing the biggest distributed power plant so we can export energy back to the grid." Sunrun CEO Mary Powell joined Brian Sullivan and Kelly Evans on CNBC Power Lunch to discuss how Sunrun is building America's largest distributed power plant and why the company's strategic shift to its direct business is delivering a better experience for customers and stronger results for the grid.

This afternoon, we reported our first quarter 2026 financial results. We have now installed over a quarter-million solar-plus-storage systems and achieved a record-high storage attachment rate of 73%, reflecting our continued commitment to a storage-first strategy as we build the nation’s largest distributed power plant. We now have 4.3 gigawatt hours of home battery capacity and approximately 8.6 gigawatts of solar generation. Read the full report here: bit.ly/4noxIyv

After Hurricane Maria in 2017, Liliana went an entire year without power. She chained extension cords together from a neighbor just to run one hair appliance at a time for clients. Today, her salon in Puerto Rico is thriving. And at home, 29 panels and two batteries mean the power going out is no longer something she thinks about—leaving her free to focus on things that matter. “It gives me peace of mind to know that I’m protected from challenges with the grid.”

As Hawaii heals and recovers from the recent floods, we want to thank all Sunrunners who are providing support to their local communities. Since the floods hit, our teams across Hawaii have been working alongside local organizations, farmers, and community leaders to assist with cleanup, recovery, and rebuilding efforts. From coordinating supply donations to mobilizing volunteers, our employees rose to the occasion and we are proud of their dedication to being there for their communities. Last weekend, Sunrunners were back on the ground in Kahana Valley helping farmers with replanting and crop recovery. We're also proud to have supported Hui Aloha ʻĀina Momona, a local nonprofit working to get plants back into the hands of affected farmers. The work continues, and so does our commitment to Hawaii and the people who call it home.

NEW: Sunrun ranked #11 out of 300 on TIME's list of top-performing U.S. companies advancing America's energy infrastructure. The ranking evaluated companies on environmental impact, innovation, and financial strength. What stood out to TIME? Companies building solutions that improve energy efficiency while strengthening grid reliability and lowering costs for American households. As TIME notes, Sunrun's subscription service and distributed power plants are "stabilizing the grid and lowering energy costs for everyone in the system." With AI and data centers pushing demand higher while extreme weather strains the grid, reliability and predictability matter more than ever. We're proud of this recognition as we continue to deliver energy independence to families across the country. Read more: bit.ly/47Br94Z
