Last week, we celebrated the successful startup of our biocarbon production facility. The state-of-the-art site employs more than 80 team members and is poised to be one of the world’s largest renewable biocarbon facilities. Using sustainably sourced biomass and high-temperature pyrolysis, the facility produces biocarbon used as a renewable alternative to anthracite coal in our steelmaking operations—which has been used successfully at our Columbus Flat Roll Steel Division. This investment strengthens our supply chain, supports domestic jobs, and advances our commitment to lower-carbon steel.
