Kelly Alumni & Visitors Center. The Spectra team delivered more than 30,000 SF of flooring across a phased new construction and renovation project, coordinating custom broadloom carpet, carpet tile, LVT, ceramic and quarry tile, wood, and stone throughout the space. From navigating active construction around existing high-end finishes to leveraging specialized installation teams to keep the project on schedule and within budget, this project highlights the level of expertise and execution Spectra continues to bring to projects nationwide. When a school only has a ten-week window to transform the heart of student life, the margin for error is basically zero. Greenhill School trusted our team to make two major upgrades happen—at the same time—without interrupting a single day of learning. This summer effort delivered refreshed, functional, and future-ready spaces across the campus. First, the 15,435 SF overhaul to the existing Dining Hall streamlines food service operations and elevates the student experience. The reworked dish-drop flow helps staff handle the lunchtime rush without the usual bottlenecks, while new equipment and updated aesthetics create a cleaner, more efficient environment for everyone moving through the space. Next, the transformation of 25,200 SF of Greenhill’s Upper School brings new lockers, renovated lounges and conference rooms, refreshed classrooms, and an upgraded lecture hall—modernizing a space the community had outgrown. The result is a brighter, more comfortable, more intuitive environment built to support how students and faculty learn and work today. The United Way 2025 Mobile County Heart of Gold Award honoree is Forrest Williams with Spectra Contract Flooring, A Diverzify Company. The Heart of Gold Award is presented to someone whose compassion, service, and generosity have a lasting impact on the lives of others. Forrest, was nominated by Wilmer Hall Childrens Home, where his leadership and dedication continue to make a profound difference. Wilmer Hall provides housing, basic needs, life skills, and workforce training to homeless young people in our community. Supporting just one young mother and her baby for a year costs about $26,000. Thanks to Forrest’s leadership in organizing the 16th Annual Pancake Breakfast, more than $30,000 was raised which is enough to fully support one young family, with a surplus. And Forrest didn’t just chair the event; he was also on the ground, grilling sausage, hauling trash, and doing whatever was needed to ensure its success. In addition to his work with Wilmer Hall, Forrest is a tireless volunteer throughout the community, serving with organizations such as the American Cancer Society, St. Paul’s Episcopal School, and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. He is known for giving generously of his time and his resources, and for being an unwavering advocate for those who are underserved. Forrest, thank you for the heart you put into everything you do.
