    This is exactly the kind of application Sol-Ark C&I solutions were built for. ⚡🌴 Battery-coupled EV charging, solar integration, and resilient infrastructure all working together to support island communities with cleaner, more reliable transportation energy. Strong work bringing this vision to life in the USVI 👏

    As one of the steadiest EV advocates in the US Virgin Islands, I’ve always believed electric vehicles functionally make perfect sense for island communities. Short driving distances, stable climates, lower maintenance, and the opportunity to recharge renewably check all the boxes needed to disrupt the transportation sector in the Caribbean region. But in the Virgin Islands, two concerns have understandably slowed the conversation: grid reliability and high electricity costs. Last week, I had the honor of unveiling a passion project of mine that continues the theme of revolutionizing the way we leverage batteries, this time to usher in the next phase of EV infrastructure in the VI. The territory's first DC Fast Charger is battery-coupled, fully solar-powered and has been energized, tested, and made publicly available at the UVI RTPark on St. Croix. The charger delivers up to 60 kW of fast charging power and is supported by a 180 kWh battery energy storage system charged directly from the adjacent 423 kW solar array. That means EVs continue charging even when there's a grid outage. Beyond the resiliency boost, the Sol-Ark batteries have been programmed to ensure stored solar energy supplies the fast charger day or night. By mainland industry standards, 60 kW may not sound groundbreaking. But context matters. St. Croix is only 28 miles long. We do not need oversized, overcomplicated infrastructure to create a meaningful impact here. Just as important, this project opens the door to a future where EV charging costs can be decoupled from traditional utility rates. By pairing fast charging infrastructure with dedicated solar and storage, the Virgin Islands Energy Office is building a transportation energy model that is cleaner, more resilient, and more affordable for Virgin Islanders.

    When the power goes out, grocery stores don’t just lose electricity, they risk losing inventory, revenue, and customer trust.   At Berryvale Grocery Market in Mount Shasta, resilience wasn’t optional. With perishable goods and daily operations on the line, they needed a solution that could keep critical systems running without interruption.   The system includes a Discover AES 210HV high-voltage battery cabinet with 209 kWh of usable energy and integrated liquid cooling.
