Mac-based live production is having a moment. A new generation of Mac-native production applications is emerging, and they're ready to participate in professional ST 2110 workflows. At #NAB, Macnica Americas is showcasing these applications through our collaboration with Softron Media Services, a leader in video ingest, recording, and playout. We're featuring their OnTheAir Video playout server integrated with the MEP100, running as part of a complete live production demonstration. In the system: - OnTheAir Video acts as a playout source into the production environment - MEP100 provides deterministic, low-latency ST 2110 I/O into the Mac - Softron operates alongside other partner applications in a real, multi-vendor workflow This is the evolution of Mac-native tools, where they are no longer isolated, but fully operating within modern, IP-based broadcast environments, enabled by purpose-built media I/O.
