When a forensic laboratory faced a significant case backlog in its drug analysis unit, they hired SNA to help. Working directly with the unit staff, SNA forensic SMEs used Lean Six Sigma methodology to analyze the drug analysis unit’s processes and procedures in an effort to increase capacity and reduce turnaround time.  The team: • created 17 process maps,  • identified 18 quick hits (easy changes to increase productivity),  • prioritized 21 process improvements, and  • drafted 10 change management action plans to implement the highest priority changes. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭: an ~43% increase in productivity once all changes were implemented.
