  • Meet our Board: Burt Helton Burt Helton serves as Executive Director of Shoals Scholar Dollars, an organization that provides college scholarships to graduating seniors across 17 local high schools. With 26 years in education, Burt has experience across many areas, from leading a highly recognized PreK program to developing and delivering professional development for educators. He is known for building strong relationships and motivating others to make a difference. In addition to his work in education, Burt serves as a Medicare Insurance Specialist, helping seniors navigate their healthcare options. He has also been actively involved in community service, including leadership roles with the Tennessee Valley Art Association, Habitat for Humanity, and the Miss Alabama and Miss America Scholarship Organization.
