Through the Service Resiliency Unit (SRU) at Sierra Tucson, formerly the Red, White and Blue Program, we deliver trauma-informed care tailored to the unique experiences of Veterans and First Responders. Our outcomes reflect the impact of this specialized approach: 79% of Veterans showed improvement in PTSD, and 77% of First Responders showed improvement in depression. By recognizing the distinct cultures, values, and shared histories of those who serve, we bridge clinical expertise with lived experience to create a therapeutic environment grounded in trust, respect, and understanding. • World Bipolar Day is observed each year on March 30 to raise awareness and help eliminate the social stigma surrounding bipolar disorder. Led globally by organizations such as the International Society for Bipolar Disorders, World Bipolar Day promotes education, understanding, and compassion for those living with this condition. Bipolar disorder is a treatable mental health condition, and open conversations can help reduce misconceptions and encourage support. Together, we can replace stigma with knowledge and empathy. • March is Music Therapy Month, a time to recognize the powerful impact music therapy can have on people of all ages and abilities, including older adults. Music can support emotional expression, reduce stress, improve mood, and create meaningful connections. In times of distress, a familiar melody or rhythm can help regulate emotions and provide comfort. We are proud to highlight the facilities within our network that offer music therapy programs and integrate creative, evidence-based approaches into care. What is a song that motivates you? • What is Residential Treatment? Residential treatment is a structured, live-in level of care that provides 24/7 clinical support for individuals experiencing mental health or substance use challenges. It offers a safe therapeutic environment where clients can focus fully on healing. Programs typically include individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatric support, and skill-building services tailored to each person’s needs. Residential treatment can be an important step in the continuum of care, helping individuals build tools for lasting recovery.

  • St. Patrick’s Day can be a fun celebration but for those in recovery, it can also bring added pressure and triggers. If you’re navigating sobriety, know that you can participate in the festivities without compromising your recovery. Consider attending alcohol-free events, bringing a sober friend for support, having a nonalcoholic beverage in hand, or planning an early exit if you need one. Most importantly, protect your peace. Celebrating should never come at the expense of your well-being. If you or someone you know is in recovery today, take a moment to check in and offer support.

  • March is Women’s History Month, an opportunity to recognize the women who have shaped the field of behavioral health through research, clinical innovation, and advocacy. Throughout history, women have advanced psychological science, improved psychiatric care, expanded access to treatment, and challenged stigma surrounding mental health and substance use disorders. Their leadership helped establish evidence-based practices, strengthen ethical standards, and integrate behavioral health into broader healthcare systems. This month, we honor the lasting impact of women whose work continues to influence prevention, treatment, education, and policy in behavioral health today. https://lnkd.in/gfuy-zZ
