Please join us in celebrating Marlene Lara, Senior Supervisor in our Food Safety & Quality Assurance department, who has been a valued part of See’s Candies for 14 years. Marlene’s journey began as a Shop Manager, where she built a strong foundation in customer experience and operations. With the support of her leaders, she transitioned into Shop Operations at our La Cienega offices and later stepped into Food Safety & Quality Assurance where she continues to grow her expertise and expand her impact across the business. Her path reflects a deep commitment to development, collaboration, and the high standards that define See’s. What Marlene loves most about working at See’s is knowing our candy is part of customers’ traditions. She says those traditions help create lasting memories for families, and being part of something that brings that level of joy and connection is what makes her work so meaningful. Her favorite pieces are Dark Almonds, Polar Bear Paw, and the Dark Peanut Butter Heart! Outside of work, Marlene enjoys hiking and expressing her creativity through event decorating, where she brings celebrations to life with beautiful balloon creations. We are pleased to welcome Beth Kotran as our General Counsel! Beth brings nearly 25 years of experience the joyful business of candy. Most recently as General Counsel at Ferrero and previous legal leadership roles Cadbury UK prior to that. Her background also includes Amster Rothstein & Ebenstein LLP and Goodwin Procter LLP, where she built deep expertise in intellectual property and corporate law to help protect and preserve brands people love. Beth earned her J.D. from Penn State Dickinson School of Law and her B.A. from Skidmore College. She’s been recognized by national legal organizations, featured in Modern Counsel and Vanguard Law Magazine, and is an active industry voice. At See’s, our Principles and Values guide how we operate. In legal, that means leading with integrity and accountability, earning quality through strong governance, and securing results through thoughtful execution.
