  • Rush-Henrietta Leads the Way - Again! For the seventh consecutive year, Rush-Henrietta Senior High School was named by Project Lead The Way (PLTW) as a Distinguished School! Because our PLTW programs include grades 9-12, Burger and Roth junior high schools also share in this honor. Recognition as a Distinguished School is not easy to obtain. Only a select group of high schools across the U.S. receive this honor for demonstrating exceptional commitment to increasing student access, engagement, and achievement in career-connected learning. At Rush-Henrietta, this recognition aligns directly with our Vision 2037 Strategic Plan. Through experiential learning, we provide opportunities for our students to gain the transferable skills necessary to thrive in an evolving future. This is exciting to announce during Staff Appreciation Week because of all the work that goes on to develop and offer these important course offerings for our students! Congratulations to all those who played a role in this achievement!

  • Best Community for Music Education Rush-Henrietta has again been named one of the nation’s Best Communities for Music Education by The NAMM Foundation. This is the 17th consecutive year for this honor! A round of applause goes out to our dedicated students, teachers, administrators, and community members! Your support and efforts are instrumental in making this achievement possible. This designation is given to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in their efforts to provide music access and education to all students. To qualify, Rush-Henrietta met criteria concerning funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, and support for music programs. Pardon us for singing our own praises, but this marks the 21st year overall that Rush-Henrietta has received this special honor.

  • At Rush-Henrietta, preparing students to be future-ready means creating space for them to lead, question, and engage with the real challenges shaping their world. Our recent 2026 Student Leadership Summit brought that vision to life. Junior and senior high school students spent the day exploring how emerging technologies like AI are influencing leadership, identity, and decision-making. Through hands-on experiences and real conversations, they examined what it means to lead with purpose in a rapidly changing world. A highlight of the day was learning from Olympic sailor Lara Dallman-Weiss. She shared powerful insights on leadership in unpredictable environments and reinforced the importance of resilience, values, and adaptability. Just as important were the conversations between students and district leaders, where students shared how they envision the future of learning and its impact on their leadership. This is what it looks like when we engage student voices and commit to building a truly future-ready learning environment. Because we don’t want to just prepare our students for the future, we want them to help shape it. Visit https://lnkd.in/eYbDjZfN to learn what our students said about the day.
