Our team embraced a sense of fun and nostalgia during our annual Easter egg hunt; a team-favorite tradition that continues to deliver every year! Over 300 eggs were hidden across the club campus, each one packed with surprises ranging from sweet treats to exciting rewards such as PTO and cash prizes. We’re proud to recognize James Payne, our Equipment Manager, on successfully completing Levels 1 & 2 of the GCSAA Certified Turf Equipment Manager (CTEM) Program! This nationally recognized certification reflects James’s dedication to advanced equipment management, safety, operational excellence, and leadership, all of which directly support the daily care and long-term health of our golf course. As Hunter Hankley, our Director of Golf Course Maintenance & Club Grounds, shared: “I’m extremely proud of James for investing in his own growth and holding himself to a high standard. That drive to keep learning and improving is what makes him such a valuable part of our team.” Congratulations, James, on this well-earned achievement!

The first-ever Darryl Cummings Tennis Classic served up more than just great tennis — it delivered a heartfelt tribute to a beloved coach, mentor, and visionary for the sport in our region. The event honored the legacy of Darryl Cummings, whose decades-long career shaped the lives of countless players both on and off the court. Tennis stars Genie Bouchard, a Wimbledon finalist in 2014, and Brad Gilbert, former world No. 4 player and renowned coach to legends like Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, and most recently Coco Gauff, the world’s current No. 2 women’s player, lent their time and talent to the cause — making the weekend even more special. The Classic was more than a celebration — it was a fundraiser benefiting the Darryl Cummings Friends of Tennis Fund and the Virginia Beach Tennis Patrons Association, two organizations dedicated to expanding access to tennis and creating opportunities for youth in our community.
