The Explorers Club brought their Festival of Nations to Woodland Hill for an incredible event! This talented group of homeschool students represented 13 countries, many with personal connections to the places showcased. The peanut stew with fufu was a crowd favorite and the Japan booth had residents trying their hand at writing the Japanese alphabet. Canada brought the laughs with toilet paper horse races and the Sweden/Norway booth even convinced some brave souls to try pickled herring for the first time! Every stop had something unique to offer including food, art, music and conversations that accurately represented each country. Spain, the Philippines, Japan, Congo, Puerto Rico, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Zambia, Kenya, Austria, India and Ireland were represented. Each student's passion and hard work shone through every booth. With about 100 residents, staff and family members in attendance, the intergenerational energy in the room was truly something special.
