Just had an amazing two day experience at the Planhat Open Customer Conference — And honestly… it didn’t really feel like a conference at all. No booths, no fluorescent lights, no plastic badges. Just a thoughtful and carefully curated experience tucked into the wooded canyons of Malibu — nature, healthy food, and in-depth conversations about life, technology, customer success, and the future with AI. We had a couple full days of morning presentations, workshops, conversations, great meals, afternoon activities (I surfed!), shuttle rides, and meeting SaaS leaders across customer success, operations, product, and GTM teams. One thing became very clear: Everyone wants and is definitely curious about AI. Almost everyone is still figuring out exactly what that means operationally. A few takeaways I know I’ll continue thinking about: - redesigning and automating workflows - improving customer intelligence - human + AI collaboration - experimentation with Agents I met so many people who were incredibly open to sharing both their personal and professional stories, and that made the experience feel especially wonderful. #PlanhatOpen continuing to deliver the goods. My conclusion: commercial leaders should get outside the conference room more often—and a certain kind of magic happens when they head to the Malibu hills.
