Lead with creativity, curiosity, and fun. This week, I had the privilege of joining a live Q&A with PhotoShelter and Matt Stamey to talk about creativity during commencement season. And it left me reflecting on the last question.. “If you had one piece of advice, what would it be?” The answer changes from time to time, but I ultimately landed on the importance of fun. I became a photographer because it was fun. But during the peak of a busy semester, that’s easy to forget. When you’re a "one-man band" managing an endless stream of emails, requests, and logistics, it’s easy to let that spark slip. For me, commencement, especially at Sacred Heart University, is a reminder of why I fell in love with photography in the first place. You are documenting a moment that is bigger than yourself. Years of hard work, emotion, celebration, and one of the most important days in many students’ lives. Thank you to Jeremy Berkowitz and Matt Stamey for such a thoughtful conversation and for the opportunity to share a small glimpse into what I do.

Spent Saturday at Bank of America Stadium watching Charlotte FC take on FC Cincinnati . two of our customers going head to head. 🙌 Half my attention was on the field and half was on the talented photographers and videographers working their tails off the entire time. I got to experience the real time workflow and it was fascinating. I’d watch a shot or video get captured right in front of me, and within minutes it was live on Charlotte FC’s and FC Cincinnati’s Instagram feeds. Real-time storytelling at its finest. 🤌 Both teams have built marketing machines that don’t just document moments, they activate them instantly. That kind of speed requires serious workflow infrastructure behind the scenes. The content doesn’t manage itself. Proud that PhotoShelter plays a role in making that happen for world class sports organizations like these two.
