In 1919, a young Lieutenant Colonel traveled across the United States with his unit, using whatever roads they could find. It took them 62 days to get from DC to San Francisco. In 1956 that young officer, who by that time became President of the United States, created the Interstate Highway System. Thanks to Dwight Eisenhower, a cross-country trip takes a few days, rather than weeks.    The modern EV charging network has likewise come from humble beginnings, and has made tremendous strides since 2015, as this The New York Times map shows. With this kind of growth, EV range anxiety is quickly becoming a thing of the past.
