We're excited to be a part of this great initiative!
Collaboration is the key to success. Today we publicly launched the Greater Peoria Healthcare Education Consortium. For the past few years, a group of six educational institutions have been aligning efforts in order to expand the pipeline of talent flowing into our healthcare system. In Greater Peoria, nearly one out of every five jobs can be found in the "Healthcare and Social Assistance" field -- that's over 32,000 total jobs. The Consortium has developed a robust strategic plan to exposure more youth and young adults to healthcare career pathways. Some programs are underway, and more are on the horizon. Greater Peoria EDC is humbled to have been asked to serve as the organizational backbone for the Consortium, lending professional help to an already strong volunteer committee. As highlighted in this story, innovative tools like infrared video goggles are helping therapists more quickly identify inner ear disorders – leading to faster, more precise treatment and improved recovery.
