In 2025, storage deployments enrolled in virtual power plants increased 153% and regulators and utilities took over 150 actions to promote VPP development. However, only ~40% of battery capacity in the US is enrolled in a VPP and most battery programs are limited to summer peak shaving. Ohm Analytics just released our Q4 2025 EV Charging Market Report! Watch Larsen Burack and Edward Storrs share key findings from the report in the video below. Highlights & Key Themes: 📈 Record year for EV charging with over 23,000 DC ports installed in 2025, a 46% YoY increase, and over 113,000 AC ports installed in 2025, a 10% YoY increase. 🚛 We're tracking the deployment of megawatt charging for trucking with several OEMs expected to bring their MCS product to the US in 2026. 🔋 While only 2% of all DC EV charging sites incorporate BESS today, providers are increasingly looking to DERs to improve project economics, site resiliency, and energization timelines.
