  • What does truly person-centered care look like in practice? PIX11's Monica Morales sits down with Gretchen Kleinsmith, Senior Director of Residential Programs at Odyssey House, to explore how the organization is setting a standard for compassionate, comprehensive treatment. Odyssey House serves mothers facing addiction, trauma, mental health challenges, homelessness, and poverty — and does so by treating every client as a unique individual. Treatment plans are tailored from day one with long-term independence as the goal, integrating trauma counseling, mental health services, vocational training, family-centered housing, and recovery support. The result: women who aren't just stabilizing — they're thriving. Many are experiencing their first Mother's Day feeling genuinely proud of who they are as mothers. Worth watching for anyone in healthcare, social services, public policy, or nonprofit leadership. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e5FYvgXJ #SocialImpact #BehavioralHealth #NonprofitLeadership #HousingFirst #AddictionRecovery #MentalHealth

  • The opioid crisis continues to devastate families across New York. In a powerful letter to the editor featured in The New York Times, Odyssey House President & CEO Dr. Peter Provet calls for treatment approaches that keep families together—because recovery is strongest when parents and children heal side by side. Our Mother & Children program shows how compassionate, family-centered care can break cycles of trauma and build lasting resilience. • Odyssey House President & CEO Dr. Peter Provet responds to a Wall Street Journal editorial on rising emergency room visits linked to cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome, highlighting the public health risks of high-potency cannabis use among adolescents and young adults and the essential role treatment providers play in addressing them. This national recognition underscores Odyssey House’s leadership, and the urgency of our mission, amid growing concern about youth substance use. https://ow.ly/MRqj50XQtSs
