Proud to see our CMO, Lukana Justin, sharing insights on resilience in optometry practices at the Vision Monday Leadership Summit during Vision Expo 2026. Inspiring conversations about leadership, adaptability, and the future of our industry.
Today, we hosted Resilience Rising, our 2026 VM Leadership Summit here in Orlando, Fla. during Vision Expo. This year, our speakers discussed how they've approached resilience in their own lives, and what we can learn from them. First, keynote speaker Adam Markel discussed change-proof resilience, recovery and how to future-proof your business. Alicia Feis, OD, FAAO, dean of Midwestern University's Arizona College of Optometry and president of the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry moderated a panel with Richard Castillo, OD, DO, FASOS, founding dean of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s College of Optometric Medicine, and Brianne Hobbs, OD, Ph.D., FAAO, dean of Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Optometry, discussing the next generation of optometrists and what's next for the profession. Jason Lake, OD, general manager of PERC and Opti-Port, led a second panel discussion with Jennifer Stewart, OD, founder and chief vision officer of Look New Canaan; Jeff Gamble, OD, of Missouri Eye Consultants; and Lukana Justin, chief marketing officer of Now Optics, discussing resilience in their optometry practices. Keynote speaker Brendan Hall discussed building a resilient team in times of challenge. Finally, Blair Wong, M.Ed., ABOM, NCL AC, LDO, CRO, 2025 International Optician of the Year, director of opticianry at Franklin Cummings Tech and executive director, Opticians Association of Massachusetts (OAM), spoke to attendees about the power of his cane and personal resilience.
