NORESCO is proud to contribute to #SimBuild2026, the premier U.S. conference for building performance simulation hosted biennially by IBPSA-USA, with team members leading four sessions: 🎤 Office prototypes are taking an important step forward. Fatemeh Yousefi will present “Developing a New Set of Prototypical Models for Office Buildings in California,” proposing new prototypes developed in collaboration with California regulatory stakeholders, to improve zoning, HVAC assignment, envelope representation, and overall simulation accuracy. 🎤 Mohammad Dabbagh, Ph.D. and Nasim Mirian's presentation, “Integration & Implementation Verification of Air-to-Water Heat Pump Models for California’s Title 24 Compliance Software,” details integrating and validating AWHP modeling in CBECC software using EnergyPlus's improved HeatPump:PlantLoop:EIR:Heating object for compliance. 🎤 In “From Scorecards to Scalable Simulations: A Flexible Framework for Future-Ready Compliance Building Modeling,” Dr. Mirian will present a new template-based, engine-agnostic framework that automates building prototype modeling for California, using a Scorecard Database and automated IDF generation to improve efficiency and scalability. 🎤 CalBEM prototypes unify California building models for policymaking. In the session “Domestic Hot Water Modeling and Validation for California Single Family and Low-Rise Multifamily Prototype Models,” Dr. Dabbagh will detail modeling and validating single/low-rise multifamily hot water use via EnergyPlus and RASS data.
