The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) invites Letters of Request by December 17, 2025 (5 pm ET) for the PREEMPT-PF Scientific Coordinating Center (SCC) (NHLBI-AI-25-003). Pioneering Research for Early Evaluation and Mechanistic PreempTion of Pulmonary Fibrosis (PREEMPT-PF ) is a flagship program within the NHLBI-AI Initiative to shift pulmonary fibrosis from late-stage treatment to early, biology-based detection and mechanistic preemption. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements will host a virtual workshop on September 15–16, “Sleep in a Bottle? Research Needs and Gaps in Ingested, Non-Prescription Interventions for Better Sleep.” Co-organized by the National Center on Sleep Disorders Research of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, the workshop aims to better understand the most important gaps in knowledge of dietary supplements and other non-prescription products taken to improve sleep. Discussions will also focus on prioritizing future research, identifying required tools and resources, and determining how future studies could help advance our knowledge of sleep and circadian rhythms.
