Today, we celebrated culture, community and Detroit entrepreneurship with City of Detroit at the official ribbon cutting for Little Liberia, Detroit’s first full-service Liberian restaurant and the 205th Motor City Match ribbon cutting. Congratulations to Ameneh Marhaba and the entire Little Liberia team on bringing authentic Liberian cuisine and a powerful story of resilience to East Warren. Supported by an $80,000 Motor City Match grant, Little Liberia is located inside The Ribbon, a mixed-use development supported by the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation along the East Warren corridor. From traditional dance performances to live art, music and incredible food, today’s celebration reflected the vibrant community space Ameneh has created in Detroit. Congratulations again to everyone involved in bringing Little Liberia to life. ❤️
