Millie (https://lnkd.in/g24vjtTc), Impinj's giving platform, is hosting a Day of Giving today, where they donate to nonprofits nominated by users. The Ocean Conservancy (https://lnkd.in/gP55hjP8) is a vital non-profit that is working globally to protect our marine life. Climate challenges and excessive plastics are a constant threat to our oceans. I'm proud to personally support them and am grateful that Impinj and Millie make donating to them easy!

This year, I became aware of the SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve located near Seattle. As a local native-species restoration project, they teach people of all ages the importance of ecology and offer volunteer opportunities to get your paws dirty. Since January, I have been lucky enough to learn about low-impact recreation, mammal tracking, and amphibian monitoring, as well as to tangibly assist with certain aspects of their work. Not only have my eyes been opened to the accessibility of restoration for people outside of the field, but I have also been reminded of the rewarding nature of community action. I’m participating in Millie's Day of Giving and choosing to support Farm Sanctuary🐄💚 I am passionate about rescueing animals and I try to live in a way that creates less harm in the world. Organizations like Farm Sanctuary do incredible work giving abused and neglected farm animals safety, care, and compassion, while also helping people rethink how we treat animals altogether.
