About us

The office of the International Trade Consortium (ITC) is the lead liaison to foreign governments and direct link to the Consular Corps for Miami-Dade County, Florida. As per County ordinance, the ITC serves to promote Miami-Dade County as a Global Gateway for international trade, advising the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners on global trade issues and managing the County's Sister Cities program.

Today’s ITC Board Member Spotlight features Alejandra Collarte, a seasoned international business development expert with 25 years of experience building strategic partnerships across organizations and countries. Alejandra is a former consultant to the University of Miami Frost Institute for Data Science and Computing and also had a 13-year tenure at the University of Miami, advancing international relations and corporate affairs. As founder of Collarte and Associates, she has worked with top-tier clients including the United Nations, UBS Bank, and the World Bank, specializing in IT procurement and international development. Appointed to the ITC Board by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Alejandra plays a vital role in shaping Miami-Dade’s global trade strategy and serves on multiple boards within the region’s business community. In recognition of her leadership, she received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition in 2011 for her impact as a Hispanic American leader in South Florida. Felicio Ramuth and Thiago Camargo, Vice-President of InvestSP this week.   Their visit to Miami-Dade County is part of the State’s ongoing efforts to leverage new technology for public safety and security. Today’s ITC Board Member Spotlight features Dimitrios Jimmy Nares, Section Chief of Air Service Development for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD), which operates Miami International Airport. Jimmy’s role focuses on expanding global air service at MIA, working with airlines and other airports to connect new markets. He also leads cargo development programs for perishables, pharmaceuticals, and manufactured products, contributing significantly to Miami-Dade's position as a global trade hub. Jimmy represents MIA on the Miami Air Cargo Association Board and serves on the ITC, as well as being a strategic member of Pharma.Aero. He co-founded Maxim’s Import Corporation, growing it into a multinational enterprise, and transformed CAMACOL—the Latin Chamber of Commerce—into the largest network of chambers in the U.S., now connecting over 900 Hispanic Chambers worldwide.
